Frank Sinatra once sang...

"When I was seventeen / It was a very good year ..."

And for me, things were pretty good when I was seventeen. I wanted to be a writer, so I went to college and I wrote (poetry and short fiction and worked for newspapers and magazines). Sinatra also sings about how things were good when he was twenty-one and thirty-five (and somewhere in that song my real age resides).

I have to say 2012 is a very good year and it has only just begun. My story goes:

When I was a little kiddo, I dreamed of becoming a published writer. As an adult, I became a published photographer and writer, but the one opportunity I have always hoped to be presented with is the chance to publish my own book. I'm happy to announce that my first book on cinema will be made possible by McFarland Publishers, but there's more:
